How to Make Your RTTS Player Look Like You in MLB The Show 25
#1
In MLB The Show 25, taking your personalization to mlb 25 stubs the next level through the Face Scan feature allows you to place your own likeness directly onto your Road to the Show ballplayer. To get started, you need the MLB The Show Companion App on your smartphone. After installing the app, make sure you sign in with the same account that owns the game on your console or system. Once you are logged in, switch to the MLB The Show 25 section of the app, where you will find the Face Scan option. Grant camera access and follow the guided steps: align your face in the overlay, slowly rotate your head across various angles, and capture a clear selfie in steady, even lighting. Remove glasses, hats, or anything that might obstruct your face, and use a neutral expression to ensure greater accuracy in the scan.

After uploading your selfie via the app, it enters a processing queue. You may see a notification when it is ready, but often you will need to wait a bit. The delay depends on how busy the system is; users launching close to release report wait times ranging from several minutes to an hour. While waiting, you can launch the game, enter Road to the Show, and begin creating your character. When the Face Scan becomes available, you will be able to select it within the appearance options. At that point, your face scan will be applied to your ballplayer—your likeness rendered onto their head.

The results can vary. Sometimes the scan aligns very well, replicating your features closely. Other times, you might see misaligned features, odd proportions, or incorrect coloring. This is not final. The in-game editor remains fully functional even after applying the scan, allowing you to tweak every fine detail—skin tone, jaw width, cheekbones, eye spacing, lips, ears, hairstyle, facial hair, and accessories. If you are not happy with how the scan rendered, you can go back and perform another scan via the app. The new upload overwrites the old scan and can be reapplied immediately in your RTTS character’s appearance menu.

You have flexibility after the fact too. Within Road to the Show, you can navigate to Appearance from the main menu of your RTTS save using the appropriate buttons. There, the Face Scan option remains accessible, and you can reapply or update the scan at any time—even well into your Career. Just be aware that reapplying will override any customization you previously made manually, so note your preferences if you wish to return to them later.

Many players have run into common issues—for instance, poor lighting causing distorted scans, apps needing updates before the Face Scan feature appears, or delays in processing. One way to reduce errors is to take your selfie in natural light, center your face, eliminate shadows, and clean your camera lens for clarity. If the app lacks the Face Scan button, check for updates or reinstall it fresh. When scans are not appearing promptly, try exiting and re-entering the game or RTTS mode, and wait patiently. Users have commented that refreshing the editor or restarting the software often resolves these delays.

Once your scan is successfully applied and polished, the sense of immersion is powerful. Your custom player will now feature your facial identity on-field, in trade screens, and during cinematic sequences. Whether posing in the dugout, celebrating a home run, or standing on the mound, seeing your face reflected in the game enhances your connection to the character and the journey. With a clear scan, careful editing, and some patience, your Road to the Show avatar becomes more than a fictional player—it becomes a virtual version of you living out your baseball dreams.
